Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to work with children. I first thought that I wanted to be a teacher, and while I loved teaching and being a nanny it never felt totally right. I wanted to work intimately with families and help them one on one reach their goals. That’s when it became clear to me that being a therapist was the best option.
My approach to therapy is to view yours and your child’s problem in the context of their life and relationships. I take a family system’s approach, which is client centered and focused on the goals you bring to therapy. I also take a comprehensive approach in developing a treatment plan, taking into consideration family history, physical health, educational goals/needs, current living situation, and any cultural aspects of your life. I encourage clients to work with their family and/or support network throughout the therapeutic process. I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy and Art Therapy.
In my free time I like to stay active with Cross Fit and hiking, knitting and crochet. I have a Pug/Beagle mix that makes me laugh whom I also enjoy spending time with at the park when the weather is nice.
