I first knew I wanted to be a counselor at the age of 11 after a counselor helped me navigate the challenges of being the child in a stepfamily. My experience crystallized my desire to be of service to others; I realized in that moment that if I could make even one other person feel as accepted and understood as I felt, I would consider myself successful.
Since that time, I have pursued my passion to support and help my clients navigate their challenging life transitions. I have nearly 20 years’ experience as a therapist working with teens, adults, couples and families. Among my areas of specialty are parent-child relationships, stepfamily dynamics, and youth mental health and addictions support. I have completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Couples Therapy Method, and I use the Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work. I am an LGBTQA affirming therapist. In addition, I offer parent education seminars throughout the greater Seattle area.
My approach to counseling involves collaborating with you to identify your goals, asking curious questions to explore possibilities, and creating a safe space for you to effectively address your personal life challenges. I work from a place of compassion and understanding to help you build on your strengths so that you can attain the personal growth and connection you desire.
I have been married for nearly 25 years, and am the proud mother of two daughters. I have volunteered with the PTSA at both the school and district PTSA Council level supporting the Parent Education Programs. I am also a cat foster parent with the Seattle Humane Society.
